WHAT PEOPLE SAY ABOUT GOODMAN'S MUSIC

CALVIN
FALWELL
Todd Goodman has championed the often neglected harmony and color instruments of the orchestra in a way that no other composer has. His BASS CLARINET CONCERTO is a true masterpiece that is not only virtuosic but it is accessible to the average listener.

JUSTIN BENAVIDEZ
Todd Goodman’s compositions are vivid, striking, and playgrounds for interpretation. I love that his music is meaningful while being fun to perform. His writing is memorable, and the way that he composes for tuba is particularly stylish.

AARON
TINDALL
Goodman's first TUBA CONCERTO is an astonishing work that showcases the many abilities of the modern day solo tubist. This Concerto is packed full of the essential elements needed for a work of this stature to stand the test of time.

ZACH
COLLINS
Working with Todd Goodman has been truly rewarding. My trio, Eastern Standard, asked Todd to write a piece for us. The piece he produced, WANDERLUST is one of the most well-crafted works in our repertoire. His music is tuneful and unique. It is both profound and accessible, and is as enjoyable for the audience to hear as it is for the performer to play.

Todd Goodman's TUBA CONCERTO NO. 2 "This Too Shall Pass" is an exciting, hyper-expressive and virtuosic new concerto is a delight for both performers and audiences. The orchestration ranges from lush romanticism to delicate chamber music, and the solo part is playful, singing, and tremendously exciting.

Todd Goodman's TUBA CONCERTO NO. 2 "This Too Shall Pass" is an exceptional new work in the concerto repertoire. It's a wonderfully-composed virtuosic work with brilliant technical passages for both the soloist and the orchestra coupled with gorgeous lyrical writing. The second movement, my favorite of the work, is hauntingly beautiful.

TORIN

Todd Goodman's PICCOLO CONCERTO is a vibrant work with lush orchestration and expressive writing that highlights the piccolo's strengths. Soaring lines that span the instrument's entire range are juxtaposed with sensitive lyricism throughout the composition's three movements. The piece is full of energy and demonstrates the piccolo's incredible agility. It's a rewarding challenge to learn and an absolute blast to perform!

REBECCA
MACLEOD
Goodman's THE PRECIPICE captures the sensation of standing on the edge, then soaring through the air. A dynamic piece with tone clusters that sound like reflecting light and brass passages that represent looming mountains. It's always an ensemble and audience favorite!
